Smiling Our Way into National Pit Bull Awareness Day

Smiling Our Way into National Pit Bull Awareness Day

A big beautiful smile and an incredible personality. Sounds like your dream partner, right? Well, adopting a pit bull could make your dreams come true!

This Saturday, October 24, is National Pit Bull Awareness Day and we are celebrating with big smiles as we remind ourselves what great pets pit bulls make! Just like other dogs, pit bulls are highly intelligent, can be easy to train and can be great with children – it all depends on who you meet at a shelter or rescue. Plus, a big sloppy pittie kiss or ear-to-ear smile can turn around even the gloomiest days.

Though these dogs have faced unfair stereotypes and severe misconceptions, we know just how incredible they can be. Here’s why some of our favorite pittie friends are smiling this National Pit Bull Awareness Day!

Hazel: “I’m smiling because I got to spend a lot of quality time with my favorite humans!”

Apple: “I’m smiling because I just got these awesome new pajamas!”

Rupert: “I’m smiling thinking about finding a family that will love me for me!”

Rupert is currently available for adoption at the ASPCA Adoption Center.

Stella: “I’m smiling because my pet parents let me watch as much reality tv as I want!”

Bebe: “I’m smiling because sometimes my brother sneaks me food under the table!”

Juice: “I’m smiling because I got to run around in the dog park with all my besties today!”

Zaza: “I’m smiling because my mom cuddles with me during nap time!”

Blizzard: “I’m smiling because my dad says I’m the best boy in the whole wide world!”

Duke: “I’m smiling because I get the best belly rubs every day!”

Smitty: “I’m smiling because I got peanut butter today!”

Josie: “I’m smiling because my puppies and I all got adopted!”

Not only is October 24 National Pit Bull Awareness Day, but the entire month of October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! This month, consider adopting a loveable dog and giving them a reason to smile too!
