Last year proved to be both a monumental and exciting year for all of us at the ASPCA, for our friends and supporters, and for the animals, families and communities we served.
In 2017, we responded to devastating natural disasters, heartbreaking cruelty cases and an overwhelming need for assistance and aid for animals across the nation. Fortunately, thanks to the outpouring of support from our friends and members, and the unwavering dedication of our staff and volunteers, we were ready to rise to the occasion and give animals the second chances they urgently needed. And though 2017 brought with it difficulties, we also saw an historic number of heartwarming adoptions, families reunited after tragedy and a level of compassion that reminds us to never give up hope.
“The barrage of overlapping natural disasters in 2017 made it a very challenging year for the ASPCA, our partners and our volunteers who worked tirelessly to save and protect animals in need. Our ability to respond to those crises as well as other enormous challenges to vulnerable animals across the country reflects a strong, shared commitment to improving their lives and elevating the state of animal welfare in our laws and values,” said Matt Bershadker, President and CEO of the ASPCA. “I’m inspired by our work in 2017 and look forward to continuing this outstanding effort in 2018, no matter what challenges we face.”
As we celebrate the close of a remarkable and record-breaking year and hit the ground running with our life-saving efforts on behalf of animals in 2018, we want to share with you some of the successes you helped make happen in 2017:
We are thrilled that we’ve been able to touch so many lives over the past year, but we know that it couldn’t have been possible without your help. With your continued support, we can ensure that 2018 will be another groundbreaking year for animals!
