Here’s How to Keep Your Mother’s Day Bouquet Pet-Safe

Mother’s Day is here—we know, we can’t believe it either—and we are so excited to celebrate all of the incredible mothers out there! As a common way to say, “thank you,” many people give a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to their loved ones.

If your mom, or anyone you may be gifting flowers to, is also a pet parent, it’s important to be mindful of the floral arrangement. Not all flowers are safe for pets, but not to worry, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) has put together  a list of pet-safe flowers you can  include in any Mother’s Day bouquet.

PLEASE NOTE: While these plants are considered safe, any ingestion may cause mild stomach upset. It is best to keep floral arrangements and plants well out of paw’s reach. If you have a question about a plant not listed above, use our full toxic plant list for more information!

If you believe your pet has ingested anything toxic or seems to be having an adverse reaction to something, please contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435 immediately.
