As we continue to find new and innovative ways to serve the people and pets in communities that need us, our Community Engagement team in New York City has been hosting Wellness Days to help provide access to vaccines and preventative veterinary care for Bronx residents and their pets.
Residents like Debra B. who came to one of our wellness days to get her dogs Ceecee and Beebee vaccinated. Debra, a Bronx resident for the past 12 years, came to our pet food pantry earlier in the year following the impact of the pandemic. She later made an appointment for a wellness day visit for her two dogs after learning about the offered services.
Beebee and Ceecee were brought by their guardian, Debra, for their vaccines.
Other Bronx residents also brought their pets by for care and vaccines. Dogs Max and Bella were both brought by their pet parents to get their first set of shots.
“By offering critical services like these, our team is able to offer support to people and pets where they need it most,” says Erin Earley, Director of NYC ASPCA Community Engagement. “These types of events allow us to better serve the communities we work in and keep animals safe, happy and healthy.”
We look forward to more community-driven events such as these!
